Is Anxiety Making Too Much Noise In Your Life?
Whether it’s an endless blare of alarm bells, an inner critic who constantly questions your choices, or the sound of footsteps always running to catch up, anxiety creates a lot of noise. If left unchecked, it can be easy to tune out and blend into the background—but the stress still lurks beneath the surface, no doubt impacting your ability to live joyfully.
I know how it goes: you wake up in the morning just to feel exhausted after a restless night of sleep. Your thoughts are on repeat, making it impossible to concentrate, being present in your relationships, and truly relax. It feels like it all falls on you – checking off every box while also showing up for everyone else with a smile.
It makes perfect sense that you feel like something’s missing. You thought you would have life all figured out by now. Instead, the daily grind is grueling and you’re trying to convince everyone—including yourself—that you have it all under control and don’t need any help.
It’s time to remove the mask!
Questions about Anxiety Therapy?
Many Black Women Experience Self-Blame And A Need To Be “Perfect”
Let’s be honest—a lot of us grew up believing we had to be twice as good just to be seen. We were taught to work harder, stay composed, and carry the weight without complaint. Somewhere along the way, we learned that strength meant silence, and success meant exhaustion.
Those messages run deep. And while that determination and resilience got us far, it also left us anxious, overextended, and constantly questioning if we’re doing enough.
The pressure builds quietly — scrolling social media, comparing timelines, and wondering why everyone else seems to have it together while you’re just trying to make it through the day. You start to believe you’re behind, even though you’re running faster than most people ever could.
That’s the hidden cost of perfection — it keeps you striving but never settling into peace. As a Black therapist specializing in anxiety therapy for Black women, we name that pressure for what it is: survival, not failure. And from there, we start creating space for ease, softness, and rest — things you’ve been taught to earn but have always deserved.
A Therapist Can Offer Perspective on Anxiety’s Impact on Your Life
Anxiety is one of the most common mental health concerns, and it’s also one of the most treatable – but too often, it hides beneath overachievement and fierce independence.
In a culture that minimizes our pain and values hyper-independence, skills for reconnecting and rebuilding need to be learned. Therapy offers you a toolkit for managing stress, reducing anxiety, and paving the way towards a more joyful, fulfilling existence.
I Specialize In Therapy For Black Women Struggling With Feelings Of Stress, Overwhelm, And Anxiety
My approach to anxiety therapy is designed to center you—your story, your pace, and your peace. From our first session, we’ll look at what your anxiety has been trying to protect you from. Together, we’ll trace the roots: the pressure to perform, the guilt for resting, and the generational lessons about strength that have shaped how you show up in the world.
This isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about understanding you. We will begin gently loosening the self-blame that anxiety creates. We’ll widen your window of tolerance, build compassion for your younger self, and help your nervous system learn a new rhythm—one that makes space for rest, joy, and creativity.

As your anxiety therapist, my goal is to help you build a life that feels meaningful and whole—where anxiety isn’t running the show, and peace feels like home.
You are not behind. As long as you’re here, there’s time to create something new. There are still so many possibilities, fulfilling experiences, and quiet moments of joy waiting for you. It would be an honor to walk beside you as you make room for what’s next.
Still Have Questions About Therapy?
I’ve already tried to resolve my anxiety with a therapist and I didn’t get the results I was looking for—how will counseling with you be any different?
This is a valid concern, and I hear you! It’s frustrating when anxiety continues even after you’ve sought therapy, but not all counseling approaches are the same.
I aim to build a warm and inviting relationship with you in a way that meaningfully affirms your experiences. As a Black woman myself, I can relate to a lot of the stress and anxiety that you may bring to therapy.
Everyone’s healing journey is different, and I assure you that even if my approach isn’t quite right for you, I’ll help you explore other more viable options. No matter which therapist you choose, the most important thing is to remember that change is possible—even if it hasn’t happened yet.
Is therapy for anxiety worth the time and money?
I completely understand that therapy can often feel like a financial burden, especially if you’re not sure how long you’ll need to be in counseling. Though this process is not designed to be a “quick fix” that doesn’t meaningfully resolve the root of the problem, my approach to anxiety treatment offers strategies for both immediate relief and long-term healing.
We will work together in counseling to build a personalized toolkit that can help you navigate stress and anxiety for life. Not only is counseling an investment in a brighter, more joyful future, it’s oriented around your sense of empowerment and independence so that you don’t feel reliant on therapy forever.
How long will I have to be in therapy before my anxiety improves?
Instead of big, dramatic changes in your life, therapy facilitates small, actionable steps that incrementally shift the way you think, feel, and experience the world around you.
My goal is to help you build tangible skills within the first few sessions so that you can begin to experience heightened awareness, increased tolerance for stress, better communication and boundary-setting, and more clarity around your decisions. All of these are signs that you’re making great progress!
You Are Exactly Where You’re Supposed To Be
I know anxiety has a way of convincing you that you’re behind, off track, or missing something. It keeps your mind busy and your body tense—like peace is something you have to earn. But therapy can quiet the noise and help you find your way back to yourself.
